Craig Martin
Dr. Craig Martin is a native to the Birmingham, Alabama. In June of 1991, he graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he joined his father, Elliott Martin, at Martin Animal Hospital and Pinson Animal Hospital from 1991 to 2002. In March 2002 he was joined by Dr. Barbara Monaghan and Dr. Cindy Williams to open Liberty Animal Hospital P.C.
Dr. Martin is PennHIP certified (a radiographic technique for the detection of Hip Dysplasia) and has an interest in surgery and orthopedics. He is trained in the TPLO, CBLO and Tightrope surgical techniques for ACL repair. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. He is a member of the Jefferson County Veterinary Medical Association, where he has served as President and Treasurer. Dr. Martin served on the Board of Directors for the Companion Animal Practices of North America (CAPNA) and on the Alabama Department of Environmental Management Commission.
Dr. Martin and his wife, Bess, have four children: Elle, Kennedy, George, and Mae. They attend Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, where he is a Young Adult Sunday School Teacher. He is a former board of director’s member for Camp Smile-A-Mile. Dr. Martin is a member of the Airplane Owner and Pilots Association. He was a finisher in the Ironman Triathlon World Championship, Hawaii. His personal activities include flying, running, golfing, and scuba diving.
